Which fuel mix ratio for IAME X30?

IAME X30 factory specification: 1:50 (2%) with fully synthetic 2-stroke oil (e.g. Motul 800 2T Off Road, ELF HTX 976). Do not richen the mix on your own — the engine is designed for exactly this ratio. Mix fresh: fuel + oil older than 4 weeks demixes. Fuel: 98 or 100 RON, no E10.

Which oil for Rotax MAX?

Rotax MAX factory specification: 1:50 (2%) with fully synthetic 2-stroke oil, approved oils in the Rotax manual (XPS, Motul 800 2T, Elf HTX). For MAX EVO the manual specifies XPS Kart Tec as standard. Do not mix leaner than 1:50 — piston damage. Do not mix richer than 1:40 — plug fouling.

Which brake fluid for the karting brake system?

DOT 4 for all common karting brake systems (OTK, CRG, Birel ART). NEVER mix with DOT 5 (silicone) — the two systems are incompatible. DOT 5.1 is allowed as a substitute for DOT 4 (same base). Fluid change every 12 months — brake fluid absorbs moisture and loses boiling point.

Do I need coolant additive for the water-cooled kart engine?

Yes — plain water freezes in winter and boils away too quickly in summer. Use a low-silicate coolant (e.g. Motul MoCool, Millers Racing). Ratio 1:1 with distilled water. For CIK races: pay attention to the racing series regulations — some prohibit certain additives (glycol content limit).

Which chain lube for the karting chain?

Dry: PTFE-based dry lube (Motul C4, Wurth HHS 2000 dry) — no dust binding. Wet: wax lube (Motul C4 Wax) or specific karting chain oil, protects against washing off. Do not use classic motorcycle chain grease — too thick, binds dust, wastes horsepower.
