Chain drive & clutch for kart engines
From the engine sprocket via the chain to the rear axle sprocket: the drivetrain
determines how effectively engine power reaches the track. Wrong gearing costs lap time,
wrong chain will not survive a race weekend. At keep-racing you will find chains in 219
(kart standard) and 428 (shifter/KZ) as well as sprockets and pinions for all common
engine families — Rotax, IAME, TM, Yamaha, Honda, Vortex and Biland.
What you will find here
- Chains — 219 and 428, standard and O-ring, in various lengths.
- Rear sprockets — aluminium (Ergal) and steel, bore diameters
30 mm, 40 mm and 50 mm, in all relevant tooth counts.
- Pinions — 428 pinions engine-specific for Rotax, TM, Vortex,
Yamaha and Biland; 219 pinions for IAME X30, Honda and others.
- Clutches — centrifugal, dry and gear clutches for Bambini, KF
and OK classes (Horstman 95 mm & 98 mm).
- Chain accessories — tensioners, guards, rivet tools, lubrication.
Choosing the right gearing
Rule of thumb: short track with tight corners → shorter gearing (more teeth on the rear
sprocket), long track with high-speed sections → longer gearing. For fine-tuning, our
team is happy to advise you personally.
